it is part of the chorus whatdoes it mean literally?
the song is about being with one person but wanting another person. in the song she is comparing what the guys she is with is doing/making her feel verses what the guy she wants would do/make her feel. that’s what the line means.
i love that song, it is so beautiful and probably my favorite song from her.

I LOVE that song. Anyway…
Katy is saying that she is thinking of her past lover, the Kyle XY dude. Sometimes she imagines what the guy (for the answer we’ll call him Kyle), would do. She also imagines what would of have been different if Kyle was the one kissing, hugging, etc her. She lives with her husband/boyfriend person, and so he spends the night with her. She wants to know what would happen it it was Kyle. Would she be happier, more depressed, married, broken up, and others if she was with him. Hope this helps.
